Stuck on what to give your significant other, friends, or family for Christmas when it comes to Nintendo Switch 2 accessories or item? Well, no worries. We have a quick Top 5 list of Nintendo Switch 2 gist ideas you should consider for Christmas.
This isn’t an exhaustive list of all the amazing items and games you might consider buying for yourself or suggesting as a gift idea for others to purchase, but it should help put you on the right track to finding something worthwhile to pick up during the holiday season. So let’s jump right into it:

No. 1: Nintendo Joy-Con 2 Wheel
With Mario Kart World out and available for the Nintendo Switch 2, along with Mario Kart 8 Deluxe being backward compatible for the Switch 2, it gives you plenty of opportunities to enjoy the motion controls of the Joy-Con controllers. Unfortunately, due to the redesign of the Joy-Cons for the Switch 2, the original Nintendo Switch Joy-Con Wheel accessories that worked for the first Switch are no longer compatible with the Joy-Con 2 controllers. The design is completely different.
Nevertheless, if you want that lubricity that comes with using motion controls when you play racing games on the Switch 2, the Joy-Con 2 Wheel is a great little accessory that gives you a way to comfortably play racing games on the Switch 2 using the motion sensors. You can get two in a pack, and they come with docks for the magnetic controllers and also have triggers on the back of the wheel, so you can make full use of the buttons on each Joy-Con 2. It’s well worth it if you play racing games a lot on your Switch 2, or you’re planning on inviting friends or family over for the holidays and want to play some Mario Kart World during those festive nights.

No. 2: Samsung microSD Express Card – 256GB for Nintendo Switch 2
One of the most important accessories you can get for the Nintendo Switch 2 is the microSD Express Card. Why? Because for any of the games you’re gifted or given or decide to download for the Nintendo Switch 2, it adds additional memory for you to store your favorite games. While 256GB of data isn’t a whole lot given the size of today’s games – or at least, games from AAA publishers, which seem averse to efficient compression – it’s still enough to store plenty of games that avoid louche sizes of popular mainstream games.
If you regularly download a lot of indie titles, this microSD Express Card is the perfect gift to give or receive for the Switch 2. Given that most AAA titles can be purchased physically, it might make sense to get those games on carts, and since most indie games are only available digitally it makes sense to download those to the microSD Express Card. Now, unfortunately the standard Switch SD cards no longer work with the Switch 2, so if you’re upgrading from the Switch to the Switch 2, you will have to upgrade. The Samsun microSD Express Card is one of the more affordable options available at the moment, just until the 512GB options come down in price.

No. 3: Nintendo Switch 2 AC Adapter
While the Nintendo Switch 2 comes with its own adapter, having a spare is never a bad thing. Another very important note to consider is that the Switch 2 is not compatible with generic adapters. That’s right. Nintendo ramped up the greediness on the Switch 2 by making it where plugging in a different adapter whether it’s charging or hooked into the dock will prevent it from working. The original Switch also had similar issues if you were attempting to do file transfers between another Switch, but otherwise you could at least charge it using third-party adapters.
In this case, if you plan on charging your Switch 2 while on the go, an official adapter is very useful. Sure, you could unhook the adapter from the docking station and bring it with you while you travel, but the safer bet is to keep the docking station plugged into the wall, and then get a spare adapter you can bring with you. The highlight is that if you have a spare battery pack you can actually plug the Switch 2’s USB-C cable into the portable battery pack to keep it charged while on the go. While I personally think the official adapter is a bit expensive for what it does, it’s still also very useful for now, just until more reliable third-party adapters are made available with universal plug-n-play compatibility with charging and connecting to the docking station.

No. 4: Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller
While the Joy-Con 2 devices are a huge upgrade over the original Joy-Con controllers, the Switch 2 Pro Controller is still the go-to solution for hardcore gamers who want an Xbox-inspired controller to play their Switch 2 games. And so, the best option is going to be the official Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller. Some of you might be asking, “But what about my Pro Controller I bought for the original Switch?” Well, that actually still works just fine!
However, there are new features and functions present for the Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller not available on the Nintendo Switch Pro Controller. For instance, the sequel features enhanced HD rumble, the new C button for GameChat, an audio jack, and re-mappable back-grip buttons. This brings the Switch 2 Pro Controller closer in line to the functionality of the Xbox Elite controller. So it’s definitely worth considering for that reason alone, assuming you’re a hardcore gamer who wants a controller that is as dedicated to achieving victories as you are.

No. 5: Nintendo Switch 2 Camera
This might be one of the least desired gifts on this list, but it also might be one of the most appreciated given its usefulness for the Switch 2’s enhanced multiplayer and online community-focused functionality. The Nintendo Switch 2 official USB-C camera makes it so you can easily plug-n-play the device with the Switch 2 and use for face-timing with other players online, chatting, or using for games with camera-integrated functionality.
It’s a bit pricey for what it is, but it does come with a stand, a dedicated cable, and a wide-angle lens that can be adjusted to make the most use of its high-sensitivity image sensors. This gives you easy access for all sorts of camera functionality and it can be used while the Switch is docked or while you’re in the portable mode on the go. Is it the best kind of gift you can give for a Nintendo Switch 2 owner? Maybe not. But if they do a lot of face-timing and online gaming where recording or showing their face is a big part of the online experience, then the Switch 2 Camera makes for a good gift idea for Christmas.
