Asobo Studios is probably one the last real game development studios out there actually focused on making a tight, well-told, visually impressive, no-frills video game. They’re not using their studio as a front to push influences from a certain tiny-hat wearing sect, nor are they focused on trying to force-feed content from the Rainbow Reich down the throats of gamers. In a rare twist, they’re actually focused on making an enjoyable game, and that’s exactly what A Plague Tale: Requiem is; an enjoyable game. Kojima Productions’ highly popular walking simulator… err, well, delivery simulator, Death Stranding, has managed to take the world by storm. It features a whole lot of walking, a whole lot of package-carrying, some otherworldly specters disrupting your deliveries, terrorists trying to kill you, and MULEs trying to steal your goods. It’s a real wild ride all while giant deformed floating whales try to suck you into a pit of tar, and Mads Mikkelsen attempts to use his skull soldiers to obliterate you.
