CD Projekt Red decided they wanted to make more money on unsuspecting gamers and people who have a very low threshold for self-respect, and re-released The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt for PS5 and Xbox Series X game consoles. They also released a free next-gen update for the PC version of the game. CD Projekt was able to get away with this tactic because they partially recovered some good will after partially patching Cyberpunk 2077 to a decent enough state and because Edgerunners was really popular on Netflix.
